Neutrik

Project reference summary report on the introduction of IFConneX for SAP S/4HANA at Neutrik

Initial situation

  • Windchill as standalone solution
  • Drawing repository was a drive folder to which no access permissions were defined
  • Material master and BOM were created using an Excel file
  • Drawings were transferred by e-mail

Customer requirements

The main requirements for the implementation of our interface:

  • Increased quality of master data
  • Minimization of waiting times and effort in master data maintenance
  • Compatibility with SAP S/4 Hana
  • Mapping the life cycle status of documents in SAP
  • Release of CAD data to SAP only by means of a 4-eye check

What has been implemented?

  • The interface allows automatic creation or modification of material masters, document info records and bills of materials
  • The transfer is process-driven from the request for increase
  • All data is validated before transmission to ensure a maximum quality
  • A stamp is applied to the inquiry data to prevent confusion
  • There is a clearly stamped drawing for each article

Customer benefits

  • Thanks to the validations introduced and the user-friendly operation of the interface, the number of people who can transfer materials to SAP has been increased, which minimizes waiting times and effort.
  • Various validations detect errors even before a material is transferred to SAP. The interface's own error messages are significantly easier for users to understand than the messages sent directly by SAP.
  • A material class with a history requirement filled via the interface has been introduced in SAP, resulting in great advantages for Neutrik AG in the use of revisioning.
  • The possibility of synchronizing lifecycle and cross-plant material status helps to make release control more secure and transparent.
  • By transferring the development status to SAP, the product development process is faster and less error-prone, resulting in a higher quality product.
  • As the index is controlled from SAP, data quality always increases and incorrect revisions cannot be released in the first place.
